Grand Marshall: Susie Selby

A cape, a crown, a beautiful dress and a glass of Chardonnay make a sweet Susie smile! On May 25th 2011, our very own Susie Selby was the Grand Marshall at the 2011 Krewe of Cork: New Orleans Wine and Food Experience Royal Street Stroll!  Susie was joined by Team Selby and friends as they celebrated food and wine with thousands of other crazy folks in the streets of New Orleans.  From togas and bangles to beaded Clean Coast labels they dressed up their weekend with pizzazz! There were brass bands! There were confetti cannons! The parties went through the night! Come to our tasting room for more stories about the unforgettable weekend!

We tasted some delicious, long-lasting finishes on the…wait! We can’t tell you!  What we can tell you is that it will knock your socks off!!

Otto Kitty

It’s time for the rest of the world to meet Otto: Susie Selby’s cherished kitty! Otto likes back scratches, dangly strings and his red, squishy, heart-shaped pillow harkening back to Mardi Gras’ of ‘ol. He holds conversations very well and will purr like a engine when scratched under his chin!

Today, his ears are twitching toward the front window as he strains to hear when his beloved owner will be approaching the front door once again!  The large gray Maine Coon surely notices when his mama, Susie Selby, is gone for another wine trip. Since she has been busy working at festivals and summits, Otto has been taken care of with extra visits from all of the Selby Winery Tasting Room Staff! With Good-morning snuggles and lunch-break cat-naps, we hope to have spoiled Otto enough that missing his mama wouldn’t be so hard!

Don’t worry Otto, Susie will be home tonight!

Good afternoon from the Selby Tasting Room! Things are a little quiet today as our winemaker, Susie Selby is out of town again! This time she is in Texas at the  Buffalo Gap Food and Wine Summit, where she is one of 10 California winemakers participating in the four-day event.  Also, on Saturday, Susie will probably be found betting on the Talladega Race as she is also a die-hard Nascar fan!
